Patios and paths across Glossop and the High Peak
Well-built paving for everyday outdoor living
We build patios, paths, steps and connected paved areas that feel right for the garden, complement the property and are properly prepared for regular use.
- Porcelain and natural stone
- Careful groundwork
- Paths, patios and steps

Materials and workmanship
The right surface, laid on dependable foundations
A patio often becomes the most-used part of a garden, while paths need to make movement through the space easy and natural. Their size, position, levels and relationship with doors, lawns and planting all deserve careful thought.
Porcelain paving creates clean lines and a contemporary finish. Its low-porosity surface is less prone to absorbing moisture and gathering algae than many traditional materials, which can make routine care easier. Natural stone offers individual colour and texture, while complementary blocks, setts and edging can define curves, steps and changes of level.
Whichever surface is chosen, the long-term result depends on excavation, a suitable compacted sub-base, controlled levels, drainage and careful laying. We discuss the available materials and practical details with you before work begins.
How patios and paths are built
Careful preparation beneath every finished surface
The exact construction method depends on the material and site, but preparation, drainage and accurate levels are essential throughout.
Plan the layout
We agree the shape, proportions, material, finished levels, access routes and how the paving meets the house and garden.
Excavate and prepare
The area is excavated to the required depth and a suitable sub-base is installed and compacted.
Lay and detail
Paving is laid with close attention to lines, falls, cuts, edges, steps and transitions into adjoining areas.
Joint and finish
Joints and final details are completed for the selected material, then the area is cleaned and checked.
A practical part of the garden
Choosing and planning paving
The best result balances appearance, everyday use and sensible construction rather than choosing a surface in isolation.

What our customers say
Rob and his team have completed this week a complete transformation on one side of my back garden. Extending my patio they did over 10 years ago into an L shape with new sleepers for planting. New fencing and side gate also. It's perfection in every aspect. The design work is excellence.
A very friendly team.
Thank you Rob for creating such an amazing garden in Stockport.
Rob,
This is just to say a huge thank you for agreeing to take on such a difficult project.
It is really very much appreciated, and is a massive improvement and transformation from the previous mess.
Many many thanks
Dear Rob,
Nadine and I would like to place on record our complete satisfaction for all the work you have done for us over recent years. You have transformed the appearance at the front and turned the rear garden into somewhere that is relaxing to both sit and work in. We can't think of anything more we could ask you to do, unless we move house.
